FOA stands in solidarity with Shaima Dallali in the wake of her outrageous dismissal as President of the National Union of Students (NUS).

Shaima was democratically elected as President yet she has suffered disgraceful abuse, including Islamophobia and racism. The NUS has failed to address the lack of transparency and due process throughout this investigation. This is unacceptable.

Shaima has worked to bring about positive change for students and is an advocate of Palestinian human rights. FOA stands in solidarity with Shaima for her work against injustice and oppression.

FOA reminds students that they are at the forefront of driving change on campus, countering Islamophobia, racism, and fighting injustice. We call upon all student societies to support Shaima and demand that the NUS reinstate her to her democratically-elected post.
